Mrs. Celia Colbert Davis, age 96, entered the Gates of Heaven on March 14, 2015. She was born on February 3, 1919 and was the daughter of Charlie and Chrissie Colbert. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Clyde Davis and a son, Charlie F. Davis, sisters, Effie Harper and Ellen Hughes, four brothers, Robert, Joe, George and John Colbert.
She is survived by daughter, Catherine D. Batchelor (Robert) and two sons John William Davis, and Clyde Thomas Davis (Teresa), 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, two daughter-in-laws, Katherine P. Davis and Shirley H. Davis.
A Going Home service will be on Tuesday, March 17th, at 2 PM in the chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road. Rev. Katina Johnston, granddaughter, will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 pm before services. The interment will follow in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Thinking of the family during this time of loss. Granny Davis always amazed me. Even in the last year, she would go a really long time in between seeing me and she always knew who I was. She was an amazingly sweet lady! She will be missed.
