Willie Walton Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2015.

Willie Walton Jr. was born August 23, 1931. Born to parents Willie Walton and Daisy T. Walton, he was the fifth of eight children. He was born in Big Sandy, Texas; where he grew up on a farm. He was always a quiet, a well-mannered likeable person. He was a hard worker at whatever task he undertook. He excelled in roofing, block fencing, construction, and landscaping. He always loved Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and was an avid church goer. Loveable and playful, he loved his children dearly.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Othela and Bobbie T. Walton; and three sisters, Edna Mae Anthony, Alice Ray Sheffield, and Money Lois Walton. He leaves behind his oldest brother, Arree Walton; his youngest sister, Nelda Jean Sherron; his five children, Willie Walton III, Carolyn Jean Armstrong, Geary Wayne Walton, and Marilyn Dean Lavon.
He lived in Maricopa, Arizona with his daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Anthony Armstrong and his five great grandchildren: Nicole Hollins, Deajzah Hollins, Dakota Hollins, Divinity Hollins, and Zion Stuart. He loved watching TV with his great grandchildren and having his son-in-law sing Gospel songs ad hymns to him. His favorite thing to do, was to throw his hands up and yell "praise the Lord and Amen." He would be so moved while praising the Lord and listening to the songs, that tears would flow from his eyes. He was a giving person who was always willing to help those in need. He also loved, every chance he could, spending time with his oldest brother. It would give you chills watching the two of them and seeing the depth of love they had for one another. He also lived for the moment. Like when Willie and his wife, Neva, would come to visit. They would bring him a bag of chocolates, which he would eat until making himself sick because he had to have the last piece. He always looked forward to seeing his two babies, Kenny and Marilyn.
Nothing brought him more joy than praising God and spending time with his family. He was truly a remarkable man, one that will never be forgotten. We Love you Daddy, Rest in Peace.
