Mrs. Theresa Lynn Ledington Wentz departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2015 being 50 years 7 months and 19 days of age. She was born on February 10, 1965 in Knox County Kentucky to Jerry W. Ledington and Beverly June Abner. Theresa loved to sing and travel. She was a daredevil who would try anything like bungee jumping, parachuting and rock climbing. She was a country girl who loved her children and grandchildren and especially her dog Teddy.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly Abner of Barbourville and her father Jerry Ledington of Cannon, two sons: Christopher Bowling of Falmouth, J Phillip Bowling of Virginia; daughter: Kristen Johnson of Cincinnati; brother: Scot Lucas of Cincinnati; three sisters: Kimberly Ledington of Cincinnati, Jeana Lamb of Elsmere and Angela Williams of Virginia; two stepbrothers: Scotty Hammonds of Tazwell and Bobby Hammonds of Barbourville; two stepsisters: Patsy O'Brien of Porowe and Mary Barnes of Cannon; six grandchildren: Kaleb, Ashland, Aliea, Eli, Owen and Noah. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Theresa Wentz will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Chestnut officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
