Jake Ryan Nelson, 17, passed away on November 15, 2015 in Bentonville. He was born on March 8, 1998 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Steve and Marlo (Bynum) Nelson.
Jake was a senior at Bentonville High School. He loved his teacher, Ms. Simmons, and all of the aides in his classroom. He loved riding the bus to and from school and was blessed with wonderful bus drivers over the years.
Jake was a precious soul who loved everyone he came in contact with. He was loving, sweet and ornery at times. He always said, "I love you", to those who meant the most to him. He loved his family, especially his little sisters, Beth and Abby Kate, and his dog, Chloe. His favorite place on earth was his "big yellow house."
He would do anything for a spoonful of peanut butter or a Reece's Cup. His life was simple, perfect and should be a reminder to us all about the important things.
He is survived by his parents of Cave Springs; sisters, Beth and Abby Kate of the home; grandparents: Austin Bynum, of El Reno, Oklahoma, Pat Bynum of Cave Springs, Denny and Carole Nelson of Woodward, Oklahoma; great grandmother, Mary Gaston, of Woodward, Oklahoma; aunt, Lori Bynum of Arlington, Virginia; uncles, Jason and his wife, Jessica of Woodward, Oklahoma and Lance and his wife, Tamara of Hot Springs, Arkansas; cousins, Jade, Seryna and Sylvia Nelson of Woodward, Oklahoma and Logan and Chance Nelson of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
We want to thank the amazing doctors and nurses on the Pediatric wing at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, for taking such wonderful care of our precious Jake.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 10:30 until 12:00, at Hunt Chapel in Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, with a funeral service at 12:00. Burial will follow.
Donations can be made in his honor to the Bentonville High School-Jake Nelson Fund, 1801 SE J Street, Bentonville, AR 72712.
Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Jake,
When I worked with you during my final year at the high school, you constantly had a smile on your face, and whenever I had a bad day, I could always count on you to brighten it. You never needed a reason for a hug, nor a reason to laugh. I never felt such open love from someone, with a heart that would give more than I could ever imagine. I hope you rest peacefully in heaven, for God graced my presence with an angel, and I am grateful to have gotten to know your love before he reclaimed you in his arms. You truly are one of the brightest stars I have seen and your brilliance will never stop shining.
You can imagine once I heard news of your passing, I had to find some way to let you know that you will always be in my heart, and the memories you gave me in that classroom could never be forgotten. Shine on, Jake, and I hope to be able to give my love away the same way you did. You truly carried the way of the Lord, by showing everyone what love truly is.

I so loved your precious son and thank you for allowing me the honor of being able to care for him for the past couple of weeks. He has changed my life forever and my prayers will remain with you and yours during this time. His wants were simple and made him happy. God chose you to parent this special child and it was evident how very much he meant to you and the girls and how greatly his plan played out. I hope to see Jake again one day, because "I'm ready"!!!

Jake Ryan,,, you will be missed but never forgotten. I was blessed to meet you in clinic and take care of a injured leg(front tire we called it.) You will never need a cast again in your new home and will run as fast as the wind.
