A brief burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24 at Sunset Memorial Park, 4301 MacCorkle Avenue, South Charleston, WV. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28 in the Miller Center at Friends House Retirement Community, 17340 Quaker Lane, Sandy Spring, MD, with a reception following. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to both services.

Mary grew up in Charleston, WV and graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. in Journalism. She moved to the Washington, D. C. area to work as an editor of the PEPCO employee newsletter. Shortly thereafter, she married Dr. Noonan and devoted herself to raising their three sons in Silver Spring, MD. Her husband passed away in 1961 and Mary returned to work, retiring as Executive Secretary at Providence Hospital. Mary was active in several organizations, most notably the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County and the Potomac Thrummers. She crafted beautiful hooked rugs and quilts in her spare time. Mary Noonan was a warm and caring person who gave of herself freely and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
