Doris Annette (Stark) Edge, 94 of Garden Prairie passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015 at Northwood Care Centre, Belvidere, IL. Doris was born on October 7, 1921 in Platteville, WI; daughter of Nellie (Morris) and Harry Stark. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married to Delbert R. Edge, December 24, 1938. They had two children, Jerome "Jerry" Edge and Dianna (Edge) Pigott
She worked hard her entire life. Working alongside her husband on a dairy farm for many years and also worked at Auto Lite, Admiral TV and spent 35 years at Arnold Engineering. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening and quilting. Doris was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Union, Illinois
She is survived by her daughter, Dianna (Edge) Pigott; her four grandchildren, Jerome Edge, Valerie (Dan) Dolezal, William Pigott, Thomas (Mandy) Pigott and Nickolus (Skye) Pigott; her nine great-grandchildren, Crystal Edge; Jerome Edge; Richard Edge; Andrea Edge; Stephanie (Ben) Potts; Catherine Dolezal; Audrey Pigott, Katelyn Pigott and Nickolus Pigott; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; her parents; her son, Jerome R. Edge; her son-in-law, William Pigott; three sisters, Beth, Margret, and Mary; and two brothers, Edward and Donald.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Online condolences may be submitted at marengo-unionfuneralhom.com

We are sorry for the loss of your mother, Dianna. I don't know if you remember me or not, but we went to school together at White Swan. I lived on the farm across from the school on Mill Road. I remember you and your brother, Jerry playing at the farm one time. That was just a few years ago!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Aunt Doris certainly had a long lived life, 94 wow! Year in and year out she faithfully kept in touch at Christmas until the past few years. I will always remember she and Uncle Delbert's smiling faces.
