Ms. Cannon was indeed a jewel and will be sorely missed. She took great care in helping to orient me to LHS when I became the Counselor in 2011. Her heart for LHS and the city of Lumberton was immense. She always made the kids, staff, and parents feel loved and appreciated. Hearing of her passing really hurt my heart. Over my 4 years of working with her, we had developed a great working relationship. Even on days when we didn't see eye to eye (which were few) we would always end the day with "you know I love ya though". With teary eyes and a sad heart, I bid you farewell "Mama Betty". Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this very difficult time.
