Fannie Doucet Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 26, 2015.

Fannie Belle Daigle Doucet, Age 84, a native of Church Point & resident of Welsh was entrusted to God's loving care on December 23, 2015.
Fannie was the owner of Fannie's Hot Tamales of Welsh until her retirement. People stopped from far and wide for her hot tamales and pralines. She made so many new friends through this business venture and loved to hear stories of their travels. Many of these new friends became repeat customers and helped to spread the joy of their visits to Fannie's Hot Tamales and the labor of love she put into making her tamales and pralines.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three grandsons: Kris & wife, Amy Peterson, Nicholas & wife, Holly Peterson, and Gaston Doucet; Son-in-Law: Kent (Petey) Peterson and Daughter-in-law, Bethany Doucet; two sisters: Cherry Goodfred of Jacksonville, NC and Theresa Kelly of Houston, TX; six brothers: Raymond Daigle of Church Point, LA; Jesse Daigle of Eunice, LA, George Daigle of Picayune, MS, Frank Daigle of Jesuit Bend, LA, Albert Daigle of Belle Chasse, LA and Larry Daigle of Church Point, LA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 4:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until procession to the church at 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Alan Trouille as Celebrant. The Committal Service will be at Bon Pasteur Cemetery.
Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Doucet; her parents, John and Rosa (Richard) Daigle; her son, Ralph John Doucet and a daughter Kathy Doucet Peterson; six siblings of which two were infants; a sister Enola D. Jagneaux; brothers, John Y. Daigle, Tommy J. Daigle and Gerard Daigle.
Fannie will always be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was very strong- willed and hard working. Fannie was always willing to open her heart and home to all. She never turned her back on anyone or anything that was asked of her no matter how big or small. May God grant her eternal peace and let her know that she will always be loved and missed greatly. All our special memories of her will keep her in our hearts and minds until we meet again!
