Richard Brumaghim Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 2, 2016.

Richard J. Brumaghim 62, of Cook Hill Road, Alstead, NH, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, at his home in Alstead.

He was born in New London, CT on June 21, 1953, the son of Richard B. and Marion J. (Grippo) Brumaghim.

A resident of Alstead, he was employed at a local horse farm for the past 15 years. He was a gentle man who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, hiking, and was a true survivalist who lived a free and simple lifestyle. Rich will also be missed by his dog "Bandit" and the horses that he cared for each day. He had a true compassion for animals, nature, family, friends, and the Native American culture.

He is survived by a daughter, Shawna M. O'Dette of Stonington, CT; a son, Richard "Ricky" Brumaghim of CT; four grandchildren, his mother, Marion J. Brumaghim of Peterborough, NH; two brothers, Thomas Brumaghim and his wife, Michelle, of New Ipswich, NH, Stephen Brumaghim and his wife, Suzi, of Troy, NH; three sisters, Susan Smith and her husband, Mike, of Bennington, NH, Judy Davidson and her husband, Rick, of Kittery Point, ME, Marian Caisse and her husband, Don, of Temple, NH; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard B. Brumaghim.

Services will be private. Family and friends wishing to honor Richard are asked to take a nature walk and stop to look around at how beautiful it is, give your dog a steak and a hug, and share a funny story of his life with others.

The Foley Funeral Home of Keene, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My heartfelt sympathies to the Brumaghim family. I will miss my occasional phone conversations with Dick. He could be hilarious, and had his own perspective on the world that couldn't so easily be dismissed. Rest in Peace, Dick.
