Mary Ann Hopkins, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 11, 1939 in Guilford County, the daughter of Ray C and Laura Inez Loftis Smith. She worked with the Lorillard Tobacco Company and retired in 1999 after 42 years of service.
Mary Ann was a member of the Faith Baptist Church for 31 years. She enjoyed spending time in her yard with her flowers and enjoyed cooking. She looked forward to the time she could spend with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Mary Ann is survived by her living husband of 40 years, Clarence H. Hopkins of the home; daughter, Christina M. Smith and husband Richard Goldberg of Buffalo, NY; grandson, Shawn Smith of Greensboro, NC; step children, Sharon Brimmer of Naples, FL and Clarence Hopkins JR. of Beachwood, NJ; sister, Vera Edmondson of Waynesville, NC; brothers, O.L. Smith and Michael Smith, both of Greensboro, NC and Raymond Smith of Pleasant Garden, NC,
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church with Pastors Ronnie Smith and Scott Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the church on Tuesday.
