Chester "Chet" Losik, 89, of Nashua, passed away on February 3, 2016, after declining health, with his loving wife Dorothy by his side. He was born in Nashua on July 20, 1926, son of the late Walter and Josephine (Krupa) Losik.
Chester was educated in local schools, and was a graduate of the class of 1944 at Elm Street High School and would work at the Clipper Shop in Nashua Mills after school. Upon graduating he worked at the former International Paper and Box and Machine Co. He was married to Dorothy (Gagnon) Losik on September 5, 1949.
He sold life and disability insurance for Paul Revere Insurance Company, and had home parties for Stanley Home Products and Tupperware. He owned and operated his own sporting good business in Reeds Ferry, NH in the mid 1950's as Lobank Marine Company Inc. After closing his business in the late 1960's, he went to work as an advertising salesman for the Nashua Telegraph where he retired.
Chester had many interests in sports, artwork, bowling, hunting, archery, fishing, snow and water skiing. His love for card playing was overwhelming, especially cribbage.
He was a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol on rescue missions for many years. He was an avid artist of oil paintings of seascapes and landscapes and has given many of his paintings to friends and relatives. He enjoyed 26 wonderful years at his cottage on Lake Winnipesauke in Gilford, NH on Smiths Cove.
Chester served in World War II in the Army Air Corps as a crew member on a C-47 aircraft on Adak, the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He also enjoyed his four lovable beagles.
Chester is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy (Gagnon) Losik, brother, Walter Losik of Nashua, very special neighbors, Mr. & Mrs. Tiny Russo and their son David, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Many thanks to Home, Health & Hospice for all their services, as Chet's wife I cannot express enough how these care givers are dedicated to all patients and their families.
There will be no visiting hours. Services will be held privately at the request of the family. Donations may be made in his memory to the Human Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road Nashua, NH 03064, or Home, Health & Hospice, 7 Executive Park Dr. Merrimack, NH 03054.

Dot and Walt, so sorry to hear of Chet's passing. I have fond memories of the 20 years of playing cards with Chet and Walt and the guys, not to mention the early morning golf we played. He had a wonderful sense of humor. I'll surely miss him. My condolences to you.

Chet was a special member of the Green Meadow family, we will miss him very much. I loved his stories, his jokes, his oil paintings and his sense of humor. Sometimes it was a joke a day!
Rest in peace Chet, you were special! Love, Ginny
