- Virginia Lee Rowe Cable, 98, formerly of Maysville, Kentucky died Friday, February 5, 2016 in Carlisle, Kentucky. She was the widow of B. Kenneth Cable who died April 24, 2007. Mrs. Cable was a Co-owner of Cable Tire, a longtime former business in Maysville. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church where she served on many committee's which included the Decoration Committee and Vacation Bible School, WMU and GA's and also served as a Sunday School teacher. She also attended the First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Mrs. Cable graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1934 with a Bachelor degree in Home Economics. After graduation she began her career working as a Home Economist with the National Youth Administration program in Wolfe County, KY and later began working with the Farm Security Program. Mrs. Cable also assisted the Mason County and Fleming County Head Start Program to help in the training of teachers in early childhood education. She was a gracious hostess who loved to open her home for entertaining guest or just someone in need of a place to stay. Survivors include her two daughters, Dottie Houser of Maysville, KY and Bonnie Metcalfe (Tom) of Carlisle, KY; her International son, Karim Adibpour (Irma) of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Neal Metcalfe (Christy) of Richmond, KY, Jason Metcalfe (Chrystal) of Carlisle, KY, Lisette Hobson (Ken) of Catlettsburg, KY, Megan Shaw (Jimmy) of Paris, KY, Mina Lisy (Justin) Richmond, VA, Massoud Adibpour, Denver, CO and Cyrus Adibpour of Erie, PA; great grandchildren, Mary Beth Metcalfe, Mayson Metcalfe, Lindsay Hobson, Landon Kenneth Hobson, Emma Metcalfe, Janie Hendricks, Beckett Thomas Shaw and Rocco Lisy. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jean Pierre Houser, her brother, James Ben Rowe and her sister, Dorothy R. Neal. Funeral services for Virginia Cable will be held at the Central Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 with Rev. Robert Donovan officiating. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery with the committal services at 2:30 PM. Pallbearers will be Cyrus Adibpour, Massoud Adibpour, Neal Metcalfe, Jason Metcalfe, Jimmy Shaw, Ken Hobson, Bill Hensley and Jerry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Lew Cook and Tom Duncan. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church of Carlisle or Hospice of the Bluegrass. The Knox and Brothers Funeral Home is serving the family.
