Jan Eric Johnson, age 72, of Mineral Springs, passed away on March 9, 2016. He was born in Richmond, VA on January 12, 1944.
Jan loved traveling, taking cross country rides on his motorcycle, and most of all loved being around his friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Pauline Sutherland; his daughter, Melody Blackmon; two grandchildren, Caleb and Anna Blackmon; sister, Sonja Harrelson as well as many beloved friends and family members.
Mr. Johnson's family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2016 from 10:00am until 11:00am at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe with a service to celebrate his life beginning at 11:00am in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by visiting www.jdrf.org and clicking "Donate Today". Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.mcewenmonroechapel.com

Jan, as a child growing up our families spent many wonderful times together at your home in Shannon Park or at the Shakey's Pizza Parlor where your dad(Monk) played music - You and Vikki are both at peace and together now. Melody we are so sorry for your loss and we are here if you need us.
