Louis Frank Haywood, 78, of Conway, passed away March 18, 2016.
He was born November 17, 1937, in Heber Springs to Carthel and Margie Haywood.
Frank was a retired Naval Officer of 22 years. He retired as a physics and chemistry teacher in Dardanelle and then returned to teaching ninth grade science in Conway for 4 more years.
Frank loved his animals. His dogs were so special to him, a friend once told him, “When I die, I want to come back as a Haywood Dog.”
He is survived by his wife of 29 years and 8 months, Sherry Ragan Haywood; a stepson, Perry Henry of Morrilton; a grandchild, Austin Henry and great-grandson, Harrison Henry, of Little Rock; a sister, Cartheleen (Bob) Houston of Hot Springs; a brother, Henry (Kay) Haywood of Sherwood; two nephews, Louis Odom and Michael Odom; a niece, Jerri Lyn Odom; special cousins, Jim Morton, Kay Morton (Larry) Sparks, Beth (Joe) Burton and Harry (Gail) Morton; and by special dog, Spice.
Cremation arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in Conway. No services scheduled at this time.

I remember when I was 5 and we were at my Gramma Tannie's house. We talked about his tattoo, on her front steps. I continued to hope to see my 'uncle' again, but he was far away. I will continue to remember him fondly. My sincere condolences to his family.
