Stella M Chmielecki, 93, of Nashua, NH (formerly of West Franklin, NH), died Sunday morning, April 3, 2016 at the Courville At Nashua nursing home, Nashua NH.
She was born in Lawrence, MA. daughter of late John and Rose (Krawiec) Torla. She was a 1940 graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Mass., and continued her education pursuing various certificates in accounting, secretarial and paralegal training.
She raised six children and resumed work at various positions including a clerk for the Dept. of Public Health Services for the State of NH in Concord, NH; a clerk for the Belknap County Probate in Laconia, NH and Executive Secretary and Bookkeeper for Central NH Tractor Co. in Tilton, NH.
She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish of Nashua, NH and former parishioner of St. Paul's Parish (currently Gabriel Parish) of Franklin, NH for many years. Family, prayer (including daily praying of the rosary) and volunteer work were very important to her including volunteering for 4H, CCD, Bingo and babysitting children of single mothers. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and other crafts.
Stella is survived by three sons, Francis M. Chmielecki and wife Patricia of Gilmanton, NH, Charles J. Chmielecki of Brookline, NH, George E. Chmielecki and wife Mary of Mansfield, MA, daughter, Laura M. Chmielecki of Nashua, NH;, sister Laura Torla of Lawrence, MA, brother Frank Torla of Methuen, MA; two daughters-in-law, Lauren Chmielecki of Nashua, NH, Judith Chmielecki of North Andover, MA, twelve grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Stanley Chmielecki Sr., two sons, John T. Chmielecki and Stan Chmielecki Jr., and daughter-in-law Elaine Chmielecki.
Calling hours will be private. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E Dunstable Rd., Nashua, NH. Immediately following, Burial took place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Merrimack County 4H, 315 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH, 03303, or to the Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester and Southern NH, One Elliot Way, Manchester, NH, 03103.
