Family and fishing were his life, a man who "never met a stranger"…this describes the wonderful husband and father that Wade Brinton Faulks was. Wade, 73, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was born August 26, 1942 to the late Fred and Mamie (Kiker) Faulks. His wife and children will always remember how kind Wade was to everyone and how he would always help others even if they didn't ask. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored. Wade was a very hard worker and provided for his family, but would take every opportunity to be "gone fishin" even if it was a holiday, birthday or anniversary.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Debra Faulks of Stanley, North Carolina; children, Tommy Faulks of Stanley, John Faulks of Stanley, James Ray Faulks of Lincolnton, Candy Larson of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Timmy and Cari Faulks, Rick and Gladys Faulks of Chester, South Carolina; nineteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Deese and husband, Ted of Pageland, South Carolina.
Wade was preceded in death by two sons, Brint and William Ray Faulks; four brothers and three sisters.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley, North Carolina. Pastor Scott Whitener will preside. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. Pallbearers will be Rick, Tommy, John and Tim Faulks, Tyler Bradshaw, James Carter and Bruce Adams.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Cowboy Church c/o Runnin' Horse Arena, P.O. Box 1221, Dallas, North Carolina 28034.
