Michael Ahlquist Obituary

Michael A. Ahlquist, 53, of Manchester, died May 9, 2016 at the Southern NH Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Manchester on September 1, 1962 the son of Alfred and Pamela (Pantelis) Ahlquist and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester Central High School.

He was a talented auto body technician employed at Grenier Auto Body and especially enjoyed restoring classic cars. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles and auto racing at Hudson Speedway, the Harlem Globetrotters and watching the Manchester Monarchs with his son Michael. Family was very important to Mike and he especially loved spending time with his children and spoiling them. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son brother and friend.

He was predeceased by his father Alfred Ahlquist in 2004 and his stepson Taylor O'Neill in 2014.

Members of his family include his wife Wendy Ahlquist of Hillsboro, his two daughters Shannon Ranck and her husband Nathanial of Virginia and Alecea Ahlquist of Hillsboro, his son Michael Ahlquist also of Hillsboro, his grandson John Ranck of Virginia, his brother Arthur Ahlquist of Manchester, his sister Karen Root, her husband David and his nephew Nicholas Root all of Nashua, his stepchildren Hannah Bamford and Jake Bamford both of Hillsboro and his aunt Ellen Goupil and her husband Roger of Manchester as well as several cousins and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday May 16 from 3 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Tuesday May 17 at 10 am in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral 650 Hanover St. Manchester. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Trisagion Service was performed by Rev. Michael Wilson on Monday evening at 6 pm in the funeral home.
