Mrs. Elsie Mae Housden, 91, a resident of Shenandoah, VA, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Life Care Center in New Market.
A daughter of the late Headley and Mamie Judd Morris, she was born on October 30, 1924 in Page County. She was a member of the Church of the Valley and she taught Sunday School and helped with Bible School.
Elsie loved her family and often baked cookies for them. She loved working with crafts and crocheted beautiful clothes for dolls and made beautiful quilts.
She married Elwood L. Housden who preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters, Janet Williams, Beverly Keyser and husband, Kenneth, Jeannie Morris and husband, Wilmer, and Judy Fields; nine grandchildren, Timmy Williams, Terye Williams, Anthony and Michael Keyser, Beth K. Lucas, Tony and Ritchie Morris, and Cory and Josh Fields; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Virginia Foltz, and two brothers, Ben and Gary Morris.
Elsie was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Johnny, Louis, and Pete Morris; sisters, Gladys Comer, Ruth Rodgers; daughters, Joyce Ann McCoy and Lois M. Williams, and great-grandson, Cody Williams.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Church of the Valley in Shenandoah, VA.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Valley with Pastor Alfred Comer officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
