Dorothy Marie Walker, 66, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday June 1, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following in the Walker Family Cemetery in Hawley, TX. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00p.m to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 3, 1950 to the late Ivon and Vurlan Glover Bruner. She was one of twelve children. She loved quilting and crafts and reading National Geographic. Dorothy loved life and being around her grandchildren. She was the former owner of Dorothy's Shortstop in Tye, TX.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 47 years, Joe Don Walker; and her daughter, Katie Ellen Dalo. Survivors include her daughters, Tina Marie Walker of Abilene and Mary Elizabeth Pruitt and husband, Kevin of Arlington, TX; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
