Evelyn Roselyn Darilek died peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016 in Moulton, Texas at the age of 88.
Evelyn was born on June 8, 1928 to John and Mary Schacherl Ducho. She graduated from Moulton High School and married Frank Joe Darilek on November 12, 1946. They settled on their farm south of Moulton and spent the rest of their lives raising their family and establishing themselves as integral leaders of the church, school and community. She was a long-time member of the St. Joseph's Altar Society having served as President and actively running the Annual Noodle Soup Dinner. In 1980, a soon to be "empty-nest" inspired her to learn to play the organ and she continued to play for the church for the next twenty plus years. She also began oil painting and many of her works of art still grace the farm house. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, SPJST and American Legion Auxiliary. She will be fondly remembered for her coconut cream pies, kolaches, canned pickles, homemade bread, noodle soup, and an amazingly generous heart.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Schacherl Ducho and her stepfather Slavek Kolar, sister Dolores Bartek, brother Calvin Ducho and his wife Joann.
She is survived by her husband of over 69 years, Frank. Her children: Diana Kloesel and her husband Harvey, Elyse Chaloupka and her husband Gene, Beverly Darilek and her husband Larry Koch, Robert Darilek, Joan James and her husband Roy, Michael Darilek and his wife Anne. Aunt Evelyn was a beautiful lady, inside and out. I loved visiting with her and Uncle Frankie at the family reunions and then when they lived at the assisted living in Schulenburg. She always insisted in coming along to walk me to the door when I left, so very sweet of her. Your family was blessed to have her for all these many years but I know that you all wanted her to stay a little longer. Praying for strength for all as you go through this painful time.
