Robert “Bob” McDonald Oakley, 89, of Huntington, W.Va., died Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, by Rev. Jack Lipphardt at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va. Bob was born June 14, 1926, in Holden, W.Va., a son of the late Robert and Ruby Oakley. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his wife, Virginia S. Oakley and a brother, Richard Oakley. Bob was a member Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the E.T. Jones Bible Class. He was retired from the Appalachian Power Company with 40 years of service. Bob is survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Foster Foundation (Woodlands Retirement Community) or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2016, at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary.
