Dorothy E. Thompson Stolte, 79 formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away at 8:26 am on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton. Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Cedar Lake Academy in Michigan. Dorothy was a homemaker; she was born and raised a 7th Day Adventist. She enjoyed doing jig-saw puzzles, gardening and she loved birds and bird watching.
Dorothy was born on October 21, 1936 in Wells County, the daughter of Harold and Florence (Barker) Jones.
She was united in marriage to Richard M. Stolte, Sr. in November of 1981 in Fort Wayne. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters: Denise (Harry) Mosure of Bluffton; Deidre (Steve) Licht of Bluffton; a son: Dwight (Mirtha) Thompson of New Mexico; a stepson: Richard Stolte, Jr. of Monroeville; three stepdaughters: Ellen (Jim) Aldridge of Fort Wayne; Cheryl Ann LaRue of Arkansas; Elly May Farmer of Texas; two half-brothers: Mike Jones of Florida; Phillip Jones of New Mexico; three half-sisters: Dianne Wafford of New Mexico; Linda (Dick) Bricker of Bluffton; Sue Hinkle of New Mexico; nine grandchildren: Andy J. Mosure, D. Adam Mosure, Donny C. Mosure, Cory D. McKeone, Celia E. Licht, Casey E. (Chad) Eppard, Liberty Thompson, Indiana Thompson and Celestial (Brandon) Dickey; six great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, four step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Dutch "Dennis" Thompson, David E. Thompson; a stepdaughter: Peggy Sue Springer and former husband: Donald E. Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Greg Comp officiating.
Interment will be at the Mossburg Cemetery in Liberty Center.
Memorial donations can be made out to the family to defray the cost of final expenses in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
