Steven Andrew "Andy" Kirk, age 58, of Worthington, formerly of Bloomington died Saturday evening at his residence. Born September 23, 1957 in Bloomington, he was the son of Delmer Lee and Phyllis E. (Stevens) Kirk. He was a musician and self-employed landscaper. He was a long-time bass guitar and singer for the Lloyd Wood band. He had formerly performed with Bobby Helms and many years for the Little Nashville Opry. He was a former resident of Bowling Green, Kentucky and played in Nashville, Tennessee for country music artists as well as here locally. Before becoming a self-employed landscaper he worked for Jeff Ellington in Bloomington. He was an avid fisherman and loved all outdoor activities.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis E. Kirk, of Worthington; his brother Russell "Lee" Kirk, of Ellettsville; one aunt, Martha Wyatt, of Bloomington, one niece, Lisa (Ron) West, of LaPorte, Indiana, one nephew, David (Kristen) Kirk, of New Whiteland, Indiana; two great-nieces, Lauren West and Josie Kirk and one great-nephew, Dylan West.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delmer Kirk in Feb. 1997.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Carmichael Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
