Joseph Raymond (Ray) Medellin Sr., 84, was called by God, June 28, 2016. Born in San Antonio, lived in El Paso, Veteran of Marine Corps and Air Force, began his Law Enforcement Career as an SAPD Patrolman and Detective. He personally protected President Kennedy in San Antonio one day prior to the President's assassination in Dallas. He once apprehended seven burglary suspects in one night. He later served 20 years as a U.S. Customs Special Agent retiring in 1987. He had a storied career with assignments as one of the first Air Marshals and DEA Agents. He traveled the world as a Customs liaison, educator and diplomat. In post career, he owned/operated West Texas Investigations along with his wife of 63 years, Gloria.

Rays greatest accomplishment is that of a loyal, hardworking family man who led by example. Ray is survived by his wife Gloria, five sons, Joe, Steve, Rick, Robert and David, his siblings Ernest, Roger, Lupe, ten Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren.
