Nealie "Marie" Johnson, 86, of Waynedale, entered Heaven from Visiting Nurse Hospice on July 23, 2016. She was a devoted wife who loved God, her family, church and her Tennessee heritage. She was also a founding member of Avalon Missionary Church. Surviving are her children, Phyllis (Dennis) Brubaker, Rebecca (Mark) Kendall, and Larry (Jennifer) Johnson; grandchildren, Brian (Beth) Kendall, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Beltz, Mery Kendall, Lindsey (Shawn) Baker, Amy (Justin) Shurley, Nathaniel Brubaker, Patrick Kendall, and Kathryn Kendall; and great grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Beltz, Evan and Aiden Kendall, Elijah and Emery Baker, and Noel Shurley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Johnson; grandson, Peter Kendall; and great granddaughter, Emily Kendall; parents; and 10 siblings. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Avalon Missionary Church, Visiting Nurse Hospice, or a charity of choice.
