I can't believe your gone Daddy. I miss you so much but I know you are here with me and the kids helping us make sense of all this. Even though we all knew the time to let you go was drawing near, none of us were ready. I have no regrets other than you are gone and I cant change it. We had a special relationship, more like best friends than father/daughter most the times and that is what I miss the most, I WANT MY FRIEND BACK!! I haven't let your passing sink in yet because as your soldier I still have and had lots to do to make sure you are honored in the best way I could. I know things haven't gone the way you wanted, they haven't gone the way I wanted either but I did the best I could to do right by you. You are my hero, my Superman, my rock, my Daddy. I know you loved me dearly as I love you the same. We didn't need a lot of words to prove that, you could see it in how we treated each other. I'm sorry for the wrongs I couldn't right, for the things I didn't get done for you to see before you passed and for not giving you the burial you truly wanted since I was a child. I will forever treasure all the summers we had that you always swore would be your last. I promise to take your boat out fishing, even if I have to go by myself. Thanks to you, I feel confident you taught me enough to do that. Thank you for all you taught me in life. You are the reason I am the person I am today. Through all our trials and tribulations, I have always felt loved and loved you just as much in return. I miss you Daddy but my heart is eased by knowing that I will see you again one day and all will be right in the world again!! I love you Daddy!!!!
