James S. Magowan Jr. with his twin sister Joan were born to James Sr. and Mae Strauss on Febuary 9,1931. After graduating from Evander Childs High School, Jim served in the Marines and was Honorably discharged in February 1952. It was shortly there after he married his high school sweet heart. Jim is survived by his wife Frances, his sister Joan, his daughters Robin Magowan and Susan Piscatelli, along with his grand daughters Alexandra and Devin. Jim worked at Sikorsky aircraft as a helicopter mechanic. During the 1960's into the 70's Jim served at the pleasure of 3 Presidents. As the crew chief of the Presidential One helicopter he did extensive travel domestically and internationally. Through these years Jim shared his photos and stories with family and friends, he was very proud. After 40 years on the job, Fran and Jim retired and went fishing, sharing two homes between Hopeville pond and Madison they lived their dream. Through his later years Jim kept himself busy with his hobbies of fishing , boating and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He was always available to help everyone with anything they needed. Jim, Dad, Grandpa, we will love and honor you and keep you close to our hearts forever.
