Raymond Mills departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, Ky; being 79 years, 1 month and 16 days of age. He was born in Jeff's Creek, Ky. on June, 17, 1937 to the late Johnnie and Dorcas Mills. Mr. Mills had worked at General Motors for 10 years before coming home to be a farmer. He believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Mills, seven brothers: Darrell, Billy Gene, Estill, Ennis J, Silas Wayne, Omis and Randall Mills and two sisters: Annalee and Judy Mills. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Betty Mills of Walker, Ky. Two sons: Billy Ray (Delena) Mills of Cannon, Ky. and Johnny (April) Mills of Walker, Ky. One brother: Keith Mills. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Lisa (Brice) Ansbro of Corbin, Ky. Jody ( Jason) Brown of London, Ky. Derrick (Kita) Simpson of Oneida, Ky. James Ray and Johnny D. Mills both of Walker, Ky. Five great grandchildren: Lorissa Dollar of Corbin, Ky. Dylan and Micah Brown both of London, Ky. Millison Simpson of Oneida, Ky. and Gunnar Ansbro of Corbin, Ky.
A funeral service for Raymond Mills will be conducted on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. A.Y. Mills officiating. His nephews and other family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at the Williamson - Mills Cemetery at Dewitt, Ky. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 10AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM.
