Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 8, 2016.

Services for Katy M. Loyd, 90, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the Henderson Chapel of Lufkin's First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Rebecca Hyde officiating. Eulogy will be offered by Reverend Randy Green. A reception will follow in the Allen Parlor. Private interment will be held at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Loyd was born November 1, 1925 in Sayer, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Bonnie (Anderson) and Fred Chambers. She passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Pinecrest Retirement Center.
Mrs. Loyd was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her Lord, family, and friends. She was a volunteer at CISC for more than 25 years, and a longtime volunteer "Pink Lady" at Memorial Medical Center. She served communion at various nursing homes with Reverend Keith Whitaker and, along with Randy Green, served ice cream at Pinecrest. She became a member of Lufkin's First United Methodist Church in 1972 and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her daughter, Lindy Loyd Davis of Lufkin; grandson, Loyd Davis of Houston; and extended families of Ed and Bobbie Mason, Michael and Kittie Davis, Phillip and Rona Friesen, Gip and Andrea Friesen, and Lee and Cathey Friesen.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne S. Loyd; and son, Robin Lee Loyd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Loyd's memory may be made to CISC, 501 S. Angelina Street, Lufkin, TX 75901; or to Lufkin's First United Methodist Church, 805 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75901.
