Arlie Dee Jones Edgar
Services for Mrs. Arlie Dee Jones Edgar will be held at 3:00pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Rev. Jon Martin and Chris Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00pm before service. Stephens Funeral Home, Union, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Edgar, 94, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Union. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Union and worked in the nursery. She worked at Midland Shirt Factory for over 40 years. Mrs. Edgar loved spending her days tending to both her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and enjoyed country living. She was known to many as "Mamaw" and would display love and kindness to everyone she met by taking care of others and she could make a meal out of almost nothing.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Edgar Vance; son, Randy Edgar and wife, Harriet; sister, Willo Limerick, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; special cousin, Audean Page and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Adam Edgar; parents Straudie and Elsie Jones; five brothers; father-in-law and mother-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Colby Edgar, Krystof Edgar, Joe Norsworthy, Ethan Smith, Jason Smith and Justin Vance. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Edgar, Jeffery Vance, Scott Vance and Steve Vance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newton County Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 297, Newton, MS 39345.
