Carole Ann Kudelka, 78 of the Coventry Apartments, Rock Island, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 24 at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Carole was born on February 21, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa, a daughter of Howard and Helen Joy (Bradshaw) Meyers. She married Richard Kudelka on May 24, 1957 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1975.
Carole worked in clothing sales at Younkers department stores in Davenport and Bettendorf, retiring in 2005 after 27 years in the business. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and enjoying the buffet at Jumer's Casino with family and friends. She was a great cook, loved to bake, and was fantastic at supervising all of the family functions which brought all of her loved ones together, which was so important to her.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Kimberly (Rory) Timmerman, Davenport, Deborah Montegna, Augusta, IA, Lisa Vinar, Rock Island, Steven (Theresa) Kudelka, Davenport, Laura (Tom) Wright, Rock Island, and Christopher (Kerrie) Kudelka, Camanche; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Craig Meyers, Nevada, IA, and Connie Billings, Waterloo, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, her parents, and sisters, Kay Duffy and Kathie French preceded Mrs. Kudelka in death.

Kim I have very fond memories of your mother and still remember the "scrapes" she helped get me out of. She always let us have awesome slumber parties She was always happy to see me and reminisce which leaves me with wonderful memories. She will be greatly missed.
