Jack Carl Porter, age 64 of Atwater, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
He was born February 8, 1952, in Westfield, New York, a son of the late Howard Carl and Florence Irene (Noble) Porter. Jack worked as a welder at a steel mill until becoming a self-employed sub-contractor, specializing in siding and roofing. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. Jack enjoyed woodworking and fishing, especially the trips with his brother Corky to Lake Erie.
Jack is survived by his children: Barbara Porter of Deerfield, Jack (fiancée Abigail Brezuvski) of Ravenna, Kenneth Porter of Dalton, and Craig (fiancée Erin Eby) Porter of Atwater, as well as his sister Dianna Albertson, and his brothers Jim Porter and Brian "Corky" (Patty) Porter. His memory will also be cherished by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jack's wishes for cremation are being honored, and no services are scheduled. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
