Carole Badgett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 13, 2016.

Carole Wood Badgett, devoted daughter, beloved wife, supportive mother, and fun-loving sister passed on September 12, 2016 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. She was 69 and had battled with declining health for some time. The family invites you to celebrate her life on Thursday September 15, 2016 at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel at 2pm followed by interment in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will greet friends during a reception beginning at 12:30pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carole was born in Siler City to the late Herman Odell and Alma Mae Trogdon Wood. She graduated from Senior High School (now Grimsley) in 1966 and in 1970 married Kenneth Michael Badgett, a Vietnam Veteran. She retired from Guilford County as an administrator in the accounting department where she made countless friends. To say that Carole loved life and had a great time would be an understatement. She was friendly and had a outgoing spirit who loved to laugh and never met a stranger. She always made others feel welcome and comfortable. A perfect day for Carole would start with getting her hair and nails done, on to some shopping for jewelry and finishing up with a great meal with wonderful friends. Atlantic City was one of her favorite places and she also enjoyed playing Bingo. Carole loved all animals but especially dogs and will be missed by her precious beagle, Milo.

She will be forever remembered by her husband of 46 years, Mike Badgett; daughter, Laura Badgett-Carter; and sister, Linda Pearson all of Greensboro. Carole was looking forward to welcoming her first grandson, Tymill Carter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her little girl, Angie Badgett who she loved and missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Beacon Place Hospice, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405. The family would like to thank Barbara McAdams for her cherished friendship and support during Carole's illness. Online condolences may be made to www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com
