Jane Cooper, age 81, died on October 3, 2016, at the home of her daughter. She was a widow, previously married to James Cooper, Walter Lindsey and George Clay. She was born to Roger and Hester Templeton in Hamden Connecticut, December 31, 1934. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1952, from Fairmont State College in 1975 with a BS in psychology, and from West Virginia University in 1977 with a Master of Social Work degree. She was employed at Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital for 25 years.
She was baptized and joined East Pea Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church February 18, 2006, where she attended faithfully. Her greatest desire was to be a follower of Jesus, not in name only, but also in deed. She enjoyed setting Scriptures to music, reading, baking (especially cookies), and volunteering for Faith in Action. She faithfully participated in exercise classes at Underwood Senior Center as long as she was able.
She will be mourned by family, church family, and friends because of her willingness to listen, empathize, and help. The world will suffer the loss of her contributions in mental health, active participation in her church, and the many other ways she helped those around her.
She is survived by her brother, John Templeton of Niantic, Connecticut; two children, Dorothy Fidler of Morgantown and David Clay of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Jennifer Cutright of Conway, SC, Benjamin Brown of Morgantown and Michael Fidler of Morgantown; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Cutright and Brogan Brown. Also surviving are many step-children, step- grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Klingel-Carpenter Funeral Home of Huntington, WV on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the funeral service being held at the funeral home on Friday, October 7 at 1 p.m. , followed by a grave-side service at the Jackson-Burns Cemetery.

Jane is a soft, kind, gentle, yet very strong person in faith. She showed how to walk in faith and delightful no matter what. ..
I used to say to her, " Miss. Jane, I wish I grow old like you". She smiled at me and talked gently whatever our conversation lead to us. I miss her being at the painting class, church services, and potlucks....
Her light shines through us to let us know who God is. She will be very missed in my heart.
She loves her children So much and proud of them. May Jane's family find condolences and peace during this hard time.

What a sweet lady, and full of inner peace! I will always remember hearing her say: "It is a Christian's duty to be happy."
