Vernon Virgil "Doll" Hoffman – 82 of Moulton, Texas passed away on October 19th 2016 after a life long battle with raising 12 kids. Vernon was a resilient man that did things his way. He was jovial and a borderline BS (only 70%). His nickname was "Doll" because of his smile and his famously blue eyes. Vernon loved big trucks, his wife, and his kids. Anyone who knew Vernon knew how hard he worked both at home and his job.
Vernon was born on August 2, 1934 in Moulton Texas to Mary and Virgil Hoffman. Growing up in this area of Texas he honed his skills for joking and getting the job done. In 1957 Vernon joined the Army and was called up again in 1961. He worked several jobs in his lifetime including 18 years with Mrs. Baird's Bread company. He was well known as the "Breadman" when he lived in the Port Lavaca area. He also worked in the Oil Field as a Salesman for over 35 years. He was very well known and loved by his friends and family. His humor, his smile, and his presence could make everyone smile. He never met a stranger in his 82 years.
Vernon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was ordained as a High Priest and served in the Bishopric in Port Lavaca Branch. He was very passionate about helping those who needed help. He could regularly be seen participating in Service activities, including volunteering to assist recovery in Slidell LA after hurricane Katrina.

I have known Vernon for over 20 years working in the oilfield. They don't make people with the integrity and character that Vernon had. He will be missed.

To Carolyn Ferreira ~
As you know, Carolyn, June and I were best of friends throughout our high school years, and I came to love all your wonderful family, but really knew well your Mom, Dad, June and Jannelle. You were much younger and the boys were older than I. Nevertheless, I am very saddened to learn that Vernon has passed and know this has to be a very sad time for you since he was your last remaining family member. From the photos, and as best I remember, Vernon really resembeled your father, and I know your Father would have been exceedingly proud of all his accomplishments. Your family were like relatives to me back in those high school days. I spent many nights with June and all of you - good, fun times that I have always remembered. Please accept my sincere sympathy. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and all of Vernon's family at this sad time. ~Mary Jane Atkinson-Willard (Rockport, TX)
