Vickie Fullington Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 3, 2016.

Vickie Jean (Powell) Fullington, 64, of East Meredith, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a short, but courageous battle with Leukemia.

Vickie was born on June 20, 1952 in Margaretville, NY and attended Grand Gorge High School. She retired from ONC Boces, where she worked for 20 years as a Special Education Teaching Assistant. Vickie had many passions in her life including NYSMLA, Oxford Rod and Gun Club, Kuyahoora Valley Ranger and the Caroga F&G Club, where you could find her shooting black powder and throwing hawks and knives. She loved being outdoors and camping at every opportunity she could do so.

Her greatest passion came with her 4 grandchildren, Skyler Fullington, Ashley Fullington, Jameson Brown and Callen Brown. You could always find her in the audience of a school concert, play or awards ceremony or on sidelines cheering for every athletic event they participated in.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Daniel J. Fullington; her daughter, Heather (Fullington) Brown and son-in-law, Zachary Brown of Oneonta; her son, Daniel R. Fullington of East Meredith; father, Richard Powell of Florida; brothers, Dan Powell of Grand Gorge, Richard Powell of Grand Gorge, Greg Powell of Maryland and David Powell of Florida; and many other family and friends.

The family of Vickie Fullington would like to thank the staff at Albany Medical Center, especially the nurses for their efforts and compassion to make Vickie and her family comfortable while she was there. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.

Vickie's family would like to invite friends and family to the home of her daughter, Heather Brown at 1754 Southside Drive, Oneonta on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM to celebrate Vickie's life.
