Rose Solari Rudd, age 99, widower of William B. "Bucky" Rudd passed away at home on November 10, 2016. Rose was born on December 9, 1916 in Ivoryton CT to her late parents Guiseppe & Maria (Rolleri) Solari. Rose, her parents and three late brothers, John J. Solari, Paul V. Solari and Frank J. Solari resided on River Street in Old Saybrook for most of their lives. Their homes were surrounded by beautiful thriving flower gardens, vegetable and fruit gardens coupled with a vineyard that Rose tended to with love and shared with all that knew her.
Rose was a faithful parishioner of Saint John's Catholic Church where taught CCD for many years. She was also a member of the Columbiettes and Women's Grange. Rose shared her faith and prayers with residents of the local nursing homes where she selflessly volunteered.
She is survived by her nephew, Joseph Solari and his wife Kim of Old Saybrook CT and their children, Dominic Solari and his wife Lucy of Old Saybrook CT and Anthony Solari and his wife Nicole and their children Johnathan and Faith of DeForest WI.
She is also survived by her niece, Katherine Braumann of DeForest WI and her children, William Humbert and his wife Kim and son Kolby of Bozrah CT and Christina Mullaney and her husband Kevin and their children Sean and Andrew of Warwick RI.
Rose's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Evelyn Anash for her companionship and excellent care of Rose. We also would like to thank Clare Morrison for her devoted friendship and loving care of Rose.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint John's Catholic Church on Friday November 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. with burial services at St. John's cemetery.

Rose used to come to visit the residents at the nursing home where I work in Old Saybrook. I always enjoyed seeing her and chatting with her before she went "to work" visiting. I love this picture of her; that is how I remember her ... May her family be comforted by their memories and may Rose Rest In Peace. God Bless ...
