Jeanne E. Smith, 88, of Harlan, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Cedars. Born on January 25, 1928 in Wolcott, Ind., she was a daughter of the late John and Lydia (Troxell) Bollier. She was a member of Harlan United Methodist Church for over 25 years and retired from Woodburn Diamond Die after more than 30 years of service. Jeanne was very active in the church, assisting with the food bank and donating her own handmade crafts to the bazaars. She also volunteered at the American Red Cross and the Harlan Christian Youth Center. A bird lover, Jeanne also enjoyed golf, bowling, and crafts. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by them all. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Horn, Lori (Omer) Steury, Dennis Smith, Jina (Lee) Jacquay, and Joni (David) Price; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Baker; five brothers, Melvin, Donald, Bob, Jack, and Ted Bollier; two sisters, Marilyn Rogers and Hazel Terrill; and one great-grandson. Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 State Road 37, Harlan, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chad Olszweski officiating.Calling will also be held from 4-8pm, Monday, November 21, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Memorial donations may be given to Turnstone.

so sorry to hear of jeannes passing..i will always remember how welcomed she made so many of us feel when we started working with her..a real nice woman and I feel blessed to have called her my friend..to joannie, dave and the entire family, our deepest sympathies...may God bless her and may she RIP....kevin and connie hapner

So sorry for the loss of Aunt Jeanne, she volunteered doing blood mobiles at local businesses and churches for the Red Cross. She was such a nice and loving person and will be missed by many! She is now in the hands of God looking down upon us! May you be blessed with memories and love during this difficult time!
