Ima Mae Graves, 99, of Taft, Texas, passed away November 19, 2016. She was born in Palestine, Texas on February 14, 1917 to James Arthur Kiser and Mollie Mack Kiser.
Ima (Iney) went to beauty school and was a beautician for a while, but decided she loved hunting and fishing with her husband, sons and grandsons more, also loved cooking and quilting. She made many beautiful quilts for her family and her homemade chicken and dumplings are legendary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin W. Graves of 62 years.
Ima is survived by her son, James (Kay) Graves; two daughter-in-law’s, Joan (Charles, deceased) Graves and Diana (Jerry, deceased) Graves; 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Taft, Texas on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
