Thinking about Bill today. He was certainly unique. I miss my longtime friend.

I first met Bill in elementary school, probably kindergarten at the Marshall Lab School. My brother David was friends with his brother Charley so we saw them lots during those years. It's been so many years it's hard to remember all the times but there were lots at the Guyan CC swimming pool. Bill was a good swimmer and later excelled at golf. After school days we kind of lost touch until much later. I guess Bill was quite successful in his business, although I don't know any details, other than it took him to the coal country of Kentucky where he had a home and tried to cultivate a hillbilly accent. It was actually pretty funny. When I learned that he was living in Palm Beach (I guess in the winter season), I invented him to our home on Singer Island. He showed up in a Rolls Royce convertible. My girls were quite excited to take a ride. I had hoped to see him at the HHS class reunion last summer. I am now very sorry I didn't get to see him one last time.

I have known Bill since he was a teenager. He had a brilliant mind and could make you laugh with his stories, often about some outrageous thing he did. Always optimistic, he had planned to live to a hundred. I will miss him.
