Dora Mae Pollitt, 82, of Maysville, Kentucky died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was the widow of Bobby Gene Pollitt who died November 6, 2009. Mrs. Pollitt was a member of the Tollesboro United Methodist Church and a graduate of the Orangeburg High School. She was born in Mason County, Kentucky on October 16, 1934 the daughter of the late Elmo Merrill and Dora Alice Moore Blythe. Survivors include her sons, Augustus G. Pollitt (Joyce) of Tollesboro, KY, Ted W. Pollitt (Elizabeth) and Vincent Pollitt (Lisa Sweet) of Rectorville, KY; daughter, Vicky Clos (David) of Brooksville, KY; grandchildren, Stephanie Pollitt, Daniel Pollitt (Adrianne), Charity Pollitt, Joshua Pollitt (Megan), Matthew Pollitt (Kimberly), Sierra Pollitt, Miranda Pollitt, Alexis Pollitt, Brandon Pollitt, Joe Jones (Shannon), Janaya McDowell (Dennis), Cody Pollitt (Ashley), Cameron Pollitt (Kacie) and Christopher Pollitt; several great grandchildren and one sister Mary Alice Botkins of Maysville, KY. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Francis Blythe, one son, Dennis Pollitt and one grandchild, Amos Bradley Pollitt. Funeral services for Dora Pollitt will be held at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 with Rev. Mason Harrod officiating. Burial will be in the Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the hour of the service.
