Funeral services for Virginia Mae Pinkston Espey, age 69, of Collinsville, will be Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 2pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with Dr. David Sellers and Rev. Wade Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Meridian Memorial Park.
She passed away on Thursday.
Virginia was born in Highland Park, Illinois and graduated from Hot Springs High School, class of 1964, graduated Meridian Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Nursing. After 24 years, Virginia retired from Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Her loves were her children, grandchildren, camping and NASCAR, especially Dale Jarrett.
Virginia was a member of Collinsville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Mississippi, 855 South Pear Orchard Rd, Suite 501, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or alzms.org.
Survivors include her children Cindy Leonard (James) and Jeff Espey of Meridian, Brian Espey (Samantha) and Robert Espey (Molly) of Enterprise; grandchildren Kelly Ward Stone, Lee Espey, Kevin Ward, Madison Embrey, Miranda Espey, Bailey Leonard, William Espey, Shelton Espey, Michael Espey, Benton Espey and Leia Espey; great grandchildren Gabriel Espey, Lillian Ward, Alexis Ward, Conner Stone and Landon Ward. Virginia also leaves two siblings Bob Pinkston (Karen) of Hot Springs, AR and Richard Pinkston of Tucson, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband H.C. Espey and parents Charles W. and Genevieve Maurizi Pinkston preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Saturday 6pm to 8pm and Sunday 1pm to 2pm at Stephens Funeral Home.
