Malcolm Barrett, a longtime Hooksett resident, died in his sleep at the Hackett Hill Healthcare Center on November 30, 2016 at age 83. He was born in Orford, NH on April 21, 1933 to Caroline (Spooner) Barrett Montminy and Augustus John Barrett.
He was raised in Hooksett and Manchester, graduating from Manchester Central High School then serving in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He was also a longtime member of Washington Lodge #61. Malcolm was a retired master electrician working with the IBEW Union locals #719 and 490.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Judith (Celen) Barrett, his children Kevin, Craig and Joi, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Brian Barrett and his sister Jacqueline (Barrett) Nelson.
His family would like to thank the amazing staff at Hackett Hill Healthcare Center for the last four plus years of loving care.
Per Malcolm's wishes, no services are planned. The McHugh Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with his care.
