JOHN LOUIS "JACK" SOSENHEIMER, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at his residence. Born March 2, 1923, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Della (Witte) and George Sosenheimer. He serviced in the Army during World War II and was an architect at Mox Pohlmeyer & Associates/J.L. Sosenheimer, which he owned. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, 100% Club, Past Notre Dame Man of the Year, and Past President of Catholic Charities.
Surviving are his daughter, Jane (John) Kelm of Fort Wayne; son, Gregory Sosenheimer of Columbia City; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Sosenheimer; and sons Michael and Mark Sosenheimer.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Father Andrew Budzinski officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Masses.

I echo Fr. Delaney comment and add there was not a finer more humble man and an unsung hero to the community. Thank you Mr. Sosenheimer for being a great neighbor and friend to our family and a great "Pal" to my Dad. May god grant you rest and eternal peace.

My sincere sympathy to children and grandchildren on Jack's death. "Man of the Year" captures what a nice person he was and a true gentleman of days gone by. The community lost a good person who brought much good by his profession as well as his sound Faith.
