Douglas "Randy" Sawyers, 53, of Axton passed away on December 9, 2016. He was born in Martinsville on January 31, 1963 to Douglas Hardeen Sawyers and Nancy Davis Massey.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Stacy Lee Sawyers.
In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Guill Sawyers; daughters, Ashley Huddleston and husband Jeff, Chasity Giffin and husband Damian; stepson, James "J.T." McCracken; stepdaughter Mary Flores; brothers, Jerry Sawyers and wife Lori, Rodney Sawyers and wife Wendy; several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren.
Mr. Sawyers was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Nationwide Homes. He lived his entire life in the Martinsville Henry County area. He loved fishing, watching football and Nascar races.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Community Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stanley Haak officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
