Bernice M. (Potter) Garlington, age 90, of Tiverton, RI, passed away, Saturday, December 10, 2016 in St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late John Garlington Jr.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William E. and Ethel M. (Martin) Potter, she was a graduate of New Bedford High School. Mrs. Garlington enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her dog Sam.

She is survived by her four loving children, John Garlington III and his husband Jeff of Tiverton, Robin L. Tripp and her husband Wayne of Cranston, RI, Leslie A. Gilliland and her husband Bill of Farmington, ME, and Kim J. Greyson and her husband Jim of New Bedford; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ruth N. Moore.

Her funeral services are private and in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Forever Paws, 300 Lynwood St., Fall River, MA 02721.
