Bryan Gregory Harper, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He loved fishing and gardening. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Welsh lodge. Bryan was proud of his military service in the United States Air Force. He retired from Himont and received many accolades from them.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Ewing Harper; sons, Bryan Harper and wife Debra of Pineville, LA., Morgan James Harper of Welsh, LA.; daughter, Vicki Marcantel and husband Travis of DeQuincy; along with five grandchildren, Jesse Harper and wife Elizabeth of Flint, TX., William M. Dunham and wife Megan of Deridder, LA., Kylea Dunham of Lake Charles, Mandi Gremillion and husband John of Moss Bluff, David Marcantel and wife Anna of Lake Charles; and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Geneva Harper; sisters, Jessie Harper, Bertha Harper; brother Wade Harper; along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Welsh First Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm and will resume on Saturday, from 9:00am until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Cancer Research Center. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Dot and family we are so very much sad to hear about Greg's passing. Had wanted to come and hug you in person and tell you we loved you and will miss him.unfortunately I'm sick and we won't make it there. I will write a card this week and donate an amount in his name for cancer research. Love you.katy and Jim.
