Helen was born in Kansas City, Missouri and is a twenty-year resident of Carmel. She met Frank Brogno in 1944 and he was most active in World War II in the Philippines. Following his military service, Frank and Helen were married in 1946.
They made their home in Indiana where Frank established his private practice and Helen continued teaching. Their daughter, Paula, was born in 1948 and their son, Peter, was born in 1950.
Helen was known throughout the community for her complete leadership and involvement in the I-HELP program. She chaired the event every month at Carmel Mission for many years.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Paula (Richard), and her granddaughter, Gina. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son.
Helen's family would like to thank her neighbors, Patsy Pearson and Joyce and Tillio Olcese, who were most helpful when needed.
Visitation will take place at The Paul Mortuary Chapel tomorrow, Wednesday, December 21 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Carmel Mission Basilica the next day, Thursday, December 22 at 10:00 AM followed by burial at San Carlos Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to I-HELP at Shelter Outreach Plus, 3050 Lexington Court, Marina, CA, 93933.
