LEWIS, Sarah Mae (nee Ruff), 95 of St. Louis, MO passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 in San Antonio, TX peacefully in her sleep at Arden Courts. Beloved wife for 77 years of the late Melton Lewis, Sr.; loving mother of Melton Lewis, Jr., Donna L. Metcalf, Darrell Lewis, and the late Cottry Lewis; dear grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Daughter of the late Seldon and Sarah (nee Eigner) Ruff, Mrs. Lewis was born in Union, SC. Her passion for educating children was international having taught elementary school in Oberstein, Germany for several years and teaching French for may years at Kinloch High School. She retired from teaching fifth grade at Delmar-Harvard in University City.
SERVICES: Visitation Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 9:30am until time of services at 11:00 am KRIEGSHAUSER WEST MORTUARY 9450 Olive Blvd. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Sarah was the former Historian of the National Association of Bench and Bar Spouses.She will be missed by all the members. Prayers for her entire family and I extend sympathy to the family.

I knew Sarah and her late husband from Grace United Methodist Church in St. Louis, MO. She was a very nice lady. We had pleasant conversations during various women's group gatherings. I want to extend my condolences to her friends and family.
