Arthur or “Artie” as he was known by his family & friends, was born in Buffalo, NY to Arthur & Bertha Koerber on February 9, 1935. He graduated from Kensington High School (1953) & attended college at the University of Buffalo. After retirement he attended Tarrant County College where he made & remained on the the dean’s list until health reasons started to curtail his pursuit of a degree. He married Barbara Kraemer, one day before his 29th birthday on February 8, 1964, in Buffalo, NY. They were married for nearly 53 years until his passing on the morning of Christmas Eve. He still referred to her as his ‘bride’ until the very end. Early in their marriage they attended the very first Super Bowl at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. As a favor for a friend he began work at American Airlines when he was 18 years old. He originally planned to work there for only two weeks in order to help his buddy out. The two weeks turned into a successful 46+ year career where he received numerous awards & accommodations. His greatest accomplishment at AA was meeting his future wife who was a stewardess at the time for American. In 1981 he transferred to Dallas-Ft. Worth & brought his family to the Metroplex a year later. Arthur had helped many, many co-workers & passengers in need at both BUF & DFW. He proudly served the US Army & then the US Air Force, both during the height of the Cold War where he served until he was Honorably Discharged from both. He was a member of the American Legion post 379. His greatest loves were his family where he was a very good provider & had an excellent work ethic. We always knew we count on having a roof over our heads & food on the table. He also loved dancing, jazz music, pistol shooting & playing sports. Especially baseball, hockey & racquetball.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Christopher Koerber & Bertha (Felix) Koerber, his brother Lavern, his sister Carol Patti (Vincent) & his aunt/godmother Ida (Felix) Pritting, all of Buffalo, NY.
Arthur is survived by his wife Barbara, son Jon, daughter Jennifer Miller (Kyle), sister Marilyn Tota (Conrad) & some of his greatest blessings; his granddaughters Olivia & Molly who have always called him “Papa”. His granddaughters helped bring him closer to Jesus Christ, the Lord & Savior.
Our family is requesting In lieu of flowers that donations may be given in his name to the charity of your choice or have a service said in his name at your place of worship.

Our sincere condolences to the Koerber family. Art and Barbara were members of the BUF108 family, an informal fraternity of AA Buffalo based expatriates famous for their gatherings when we all were much younger. Sadly, Artie has gone on to join others from our group. A good natured man with a personality that reached out with friendliness, Artie will be remembered that way.

Our love and prayers go out to you, Barbara, Jennifer, Jon, and extended family. Art will live on in your hearts until you meet again. We remember him as a wonderful family man with a great gift of gab. He valued education, which was so evident when he went back to college immediately after retirement. He probably could have taught some of the classes he took! :-) With sympathy, Pat & Dale Reinecker
